Today was our parent student activity in relation to our central idea ‘people use colours to express their feelings and to explore their world around them.’ Recently during the ‘going further’ section of the PYP learning journey the children began to learn about rainbows and the different colours which consisted within a rainbow. The goal of the activity today was to create a rainbow from different fruit, vegetables and flowers with their parents.
今天是我们的家长学生活动与我们的中心思想“人们用色彩来表达他们的感受并探索他们周围的世界。”相关,最近在小学项目学习之旅的“深入”部分,孩子们开始学习彩虹和彩虹中的不同颜色。今天活动的目标是与父母用不同水果,蔬菜和花卉制作彩虹。
At first the teacher placed students and parents into a group and then the children went home and with the help of their parents they started to learn about the different colours around them that constituted to the colours in the rainbow. The children started to explore the different fruits and vegetables which were the same colour of the rainbow and with the help of their parents they cut the fruit and vegetables into small pieces and placed them into a container.
起初,老师把学生和家长分成三个小组,然后孩子们回家,在父母的帮助下,他们开始了解周围的不同颜色,这些颜色构成了彩虹中的颜色。孩子们开始探索与彩虹颜色相同的不同水果和蔬菜,并在父母的帮助下将水果和蔬菜切成小块,然后放入容器中。

During the activity the children first sang the rainbow song with the international teacher before their Chinese teacher started the activity.
在活动期间,孩子们在他们的中文老师开始活动之前,先和国际老师一起唱彩虹歌。

The children reviewed the different colours of the rainbow by shaking a bottle of water which changed into colours of the rainbow. The children were very excited by the way the water changed colour to the different rainbow colours.

After discussing the colours of the rainbow, the children went into their groups with their parents and started to piece together the different coloured fruits onto a readymade rainbow. Together the children and parents glued the fruit, vegetables and flowers and made a beautiful colourful rainbow.
在讨论了彩虹的颜色之后,孩子们和他们的父母一起进入他们的小组,并开始将不同颜色的材料放在之前画好的彩虹。孩子们和父母一起把水果,蔬菜和鲜花粘在一起,做成了一道美丽的彩虹。

At the end the parents and children began to reflect on the different items and colours they used to make a rainbow.

In terms of the IB learner profile the children were knowledgeable and risk takers. They learnt knowledge about the different colours and fruits which were transpired into the rainbow. In addition, our students were risk takers by going to the outside world and inquiring knowledge for themselves and being part of the learning journey.

For today's parents' open activity, we experienced the culture of South Africa together with our parents. South African culture is one of the most diverse in the world. The country has an impressive eleven official languages and several other recognized languages, each with its own vitality and culture. Dance, music and art are important carriers of South African culture. South Africans sing and dance to celebrate festivals.
今天的家长开放活动,我们和爸爸妈妈一起体验了南非的文化。南非的文化是世界上最多样化的文化之一。该国拥有令人印象深刻的十一种官方语言和其他几种公认的语言,每个组织都有自己的活力和文化。舞蹈,音乐和艺术作为南非文化的重要载体,南非人们载歌载舞来欢庆节日

At first, we watched a video about an African drum dance, we then made our own African drums out of recycled materials like mineral water bottles and milk powder cans. In the production process, we used our communication, thinking and self-management skills while dad, mom and grandpa helped to design and make the drums with us, we think our drums look very good!
我们首先观看了有关非洲鼓和舞蹈的视频然后我们利用废旧材料--矿泉水瓶和奶粉罐来来制作了南非鼓。在制作过程中,小朋友们运用了沟通技能,思考技能,自我管理技能和爸爸妈妈爷爷一起合作,我们的鼓是不是很好看呀!

Finally, our parents sat in a circle and played on the drums while we danced together, we feel happy that we know a little more about South Africa`s culture.
最后,我们大家围坐在一起,家长给我们敲鼓,小朋友们欢快舞动。
